Undergraduate Program

The Department offers a Majors B.Sc. degree program with an Honours option specializing in Cellular, Anatomical & Physiological Sciences (CAPS). CAPS courses are offered in 2nd, 3rd and 4th years in cell biology, physiology and anatomy with an emphasis on human health and disease. In 2nd and 3rd years, student take a series of required courses. In 4th year, students can select their courses. Human physiology labs are taken in 3rd year, and are also optional in 4th Year. Directed Studies and co-op placements are offered for students interested in a research lab experience. Students who choose the Honours undertake an eight-month research project under the supervision of our research faculty forming the basis of their graduating honours thesis. Students may apply to enter either the Major or Honours specialization at the end of second year through the common application which is administered by the Office of the Dean of Science.
